Wolves secure Tommy Doyle on a permanent four-year deal

Wolves Activate Option to Sign Tommy Doyle Permanently

Wolves have made a significant move by activating the option to turn midfielder Tommy Doyle’s loan into a permanent deal. The 22-year-old, who has been on loan from Manchester City, has now signed a four-year contract with Wolves, keeping him at Molinuex until 2028, with the possibility of extending for another two years.

Impressive Performance

Doyle, a product of Manchester City’s youth system, has showcased his talent by making 30 appearances for Wolves this season. Despite only making seven appearances for City, he has become a key player for Wolves, contributing to their solid performance in the Premier League this season.

Endorsement from Sporting Director

Sporting director Matt Hobbs expressed his satisfaction with Doyle’s progress, stating, “We’ve never seen Tommy as a player on loan, and he hasn’t acted like one. He’s gradually earned more minutes and become more important, which I think is an ideal first year.”

Hobbs further added, “What he offers to our midfield is something different to the others, so there was a huge amount of inevitability to this. He buys into who we are as a club and what we’re trying to create culturally within the group.”

Bright Future Ahead

Looking towards the future, Hobbs highlighted Doyle’s potential, stating, “If you look at the type of players we like to sign as a football club, they generally haven’t reached their ceiling yet and have loads more to come. Tommy is a fraction of the player he will become, with the more he gets used to the league and the greater his understanding gets.”

Excited about the present and optimistic about the future, Hobbs concluded, “I’m really excited for now but also his future at Wolves.”
