US Imposes Sanctions on Four Firms
The United States has taken action against four companies, three Chinese and one Belarusian, for their involvement in aiding Pakistan’s ballistic missile project. The move was made to disrupt networks supporting proliferation activities related to weapons of mass destruction.
Companies Targeted
- Belarus’s Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant: This firm provided a specialized vehicle chassis to Pakistan’s long-range ballistic missile program, supporting missiles developed by the National Development Complex (NDC).
- China’s Xi’an Longde Technology Development Company Limited: This Chinese company supplied missile-related equipment, including a filament winding machine, to Pakistan.
- China’s Tianjin Creative Source International Trade Co Ltd: Accused of supplying stir welding equipment and a linear accelerator system to Pakistan’s ballistic missile program, likely intended for Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).
- China’s Granpect Company Limited: Allegedly collaborated with SUPARCO in Pakistan to provide testing equipment for large-diameter rocket motors.
The US emphasized its commitment to enhancing the international nonproliferation framework by taking action against proliferation networks associated with weapons of mass destruction.
