Shooting at School in Vantaa, Finland
Several people have been wounded in a shooting at a school in the city of Vantaa in Finland, according to Finnish police.
Incident Details
- Three minors were wounded in the shooting on April 02 at the Viertola school in Vantaa, a suburb of Helsinki.
- The Viertola school has around 800 students in grades one to nine and a staff of about 90 people.
- A minor, believed to be the suspect, has been arrested and all three victims were hospitalized.
Principal’s Statement
“The immediate danger is over,” said Sari Laasila, the principal of Viertola school, in a statement to Reuters. She declined to provide further details on the incident.
