Taiwan-China Tensions Escalate
In the latest development of Taiwan-China tensions, the Taiwan defense ministry reported a significant increase in Chinese military activities around the island.
Chinese Warplanes Incursions
Within 24 hours, 32 Chinese warplanes were detected by Taiwan’s defense ministry, marking the second-highest number of such incidents this year. Out of these, 20 aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, breaching the island’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) in various regions.
Naval Presence
Additionally, Taiwan’s defense ministry identified the presence of approximately five Chinese naval ships operating near Taiwan’s waters until 6:00 am local time.
Response Measures
The defense ministry of Taiwan responded to these activities by closely monitoring the situation and deploying Combat Air Patrol (CAP) aircraft, Navy vessels, and coastal missile systems to address the detected threats.
