Terror Attack at Crocus City Hall
The terror attack at the Crocus City Hall resulted in the tragic loss of 143 lives and left 360 individuals injured. Russia has taken into custody a total of 11 suspects in connection with the attack.
Suspect’s Background
The youngest detainee, 19-year-old Muhammadsobir Fayzov, previously worked at a barber shop outside Moscow. His former employer, Yamina Safiyeva, described him as a talented and diligent stylist, stating that she noticed no unusual behavior from him.
Fayzov’s colleagues also expressed surprise at his alleged involvement in the attack, mentioning that they saw no warning signs.
Mother’s Reaction
Fayzov’s mother, Sairam, expressed disbelief at the accusations against her son, describing him as not someone capable of such actions. She speculated that he might have been influenced or “brainwashed,” and shared that his dream was to pursue studies in China.
Suspected Gunmen
Aside from Fayzov, the other three suspected gunmen involved in the attack are Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Shamsidin Fariduni, and Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) had previously announced the detention of a total of 11 suspects.
Legal Developments
A district court in Moscow recently approved the detention of an eighth individual suspected of involvement in the attack, as reported by news agency Reuters.
Allegations of Foreign Involvement
FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov implicated the Ukrainian secret service in aiding the terrorists behind the attack. This claim was supported by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, who accused the United States of covering up Ukraine’s involvement.
However, advisor to the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, Mikhail Podolyak, denied any connection between Ukraine and the attack.
