The Supreme Court has issued important directions regarding the conduct of Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

  • After the completion of the symbol loading process, the Symbol Loading Unit (SLU) should be sealed and stored for a minimum of 45 days.
  • All petitions seeking 100% verification of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) votes with their Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips have been rejected by the Supreme Court.
  • A team of engineers will check the burnt memory in the microcontroller EVM after the declaration of results upon request by candidates in specific serial numbers.
