Edinburgh Moves European Challenge Cup Tie to Murrayfield Due to Storm Kathleen
Edinburgh have relocated their European Challenge Cup match against Bayonne to Murrayfield on Saturday evening due to the impact of Storm Kathleen. The round-of-16 tie was originally scheduled to take place at the Hive Stadium next to Murrayfield, but has been moved in light of the expected strong winds in Edinburgh.
Reason for Venue Change
Edinburgh’s operations team and Scottish Rugby health and safety officials consulted with the Met Office regarding the yellow warning for wind, leading to the decision to switch venues. Despite the change, the game’s kick-off time of 8pm remains unchanged.
Edinburgh Rugby managing director Douglas Struth emphasized the importance of safety for fans, players, and staff. He expressed regret over not playing at their home ground, the Hive Stadium, but urged fans to bring their enthusiasm to Murrayfield for the match.
Struth acknowledged the challenges of the venue change and thanked fans and visitors from Bayonne for their understanding and cooperation in ensuring a smooth transition.
He advised attendees to plan their journey carefully and travel safely to the new location for the match.
Dundee’s Premiership Game With Motherwell Gets Green Light

Pitch Inspection Outcome
After concerns over the pitch surface due to heavy rainfall, the match referee confirmed the game would kick off at 3pm as scheduled. Dundee Football Club expressed gratitude to their staff, contractors, and volunteers for their efforts in ensuring the match could go ahead.
The club looks forward to welcoming a supportive crowd at The Scot Foam Stadium for the game.
