Sir David Attenborough Steps Aside for Kids
Sir David Attenborough, the renowned 97-year-old broadcaster, is making way for a special episode of Planet Earth III to be narrated by schoolchildren. This unique initiative showcases the influence of Sir David’s work on British TV history.
Children as Nature’s Voice
A group of 50 schoolchildren, aged nine to 13, will narrate the special episode, titled “Planet Earth III: Narrated By Kids.” Through this, they aim to emphasize that anyone can be a voice for nature and contribute to protecting our planet.
Collaboration with BBC Children In Need
The BBC documentary series has partnered with BBC Children In Need to select schools that have supported fundraising efforts to participate in the episode. Additionally, classroom resource packs related to the episode are available for download on the BBC Children In Need website.
Earth Day Celebration
To coincide with Earth Day, a live assembly will be streamed on Monday at 9:30 am as part of the “Become A Voice For Nature” campaign. The assembly, hosted by wildlife biologist Lizzie Daly, aims to educate students on the importance of protecting the planet.
