Reason for Recall
The Centre for Food Safety in Hong Kong issued a notification on the recall of Everest Fish Curry Masala from India due to the presence of ethylene oxide at levels exceeding permissible limits.
Use of Ethylene Oxide
Ethylene oxide is a pesticide that has not been authorized for use in food, although it can be used in the sterilization of spices.
Recall Process
The importer, Sp Muthiah & Sons Pte. Ltd, has been directed by the SFA to initiate a comprehensive recall of the products.
