Ronnie O’Sullivan secured a 5-3 victory over Michael White to progress to the last 32 of the World Open. Despite facing some challenges, the world number one managed to secure the win in Yushan.

O’Sullivan’s Performance

Although not performing at his peak, O’Sullivan showcased his skill with back-to-back century breaks during the match. He initially took a commanding lead with breaks of 129 and 106, moving ahead 3-1.

However, White fought back strongly, creating opportunities to force a decider as O’Sullivan made some uncharacteristic mistakes. In a tense moment, O’Sullivan managed to win a crucial safety battle to secure victory in eight frames.

Judd Trump Continues Strong Performance

Judd Trump maintained his momentum with a comfortable 5-2 win against Sanderson Lam, staying on track for consecutive titles. Having previously won the event in 2019, Trump aims to replicate his success in this edition.
