Richard Madeley deems waiting six hours to interview a pop megastar as not worthwhile

Richard Madeley’s Swipe at Madonna

Richard Madeley has taken a swipe at Madonna after claiming he once waited hours to interview the popstar. The ITV presenter, 67, said the chat ultimately ‘wasn’t worth’ the six-hour wait because the Material Girl, 65, was ‘weird’.

Interview Delay

Richard recalled his experience with the Vogue superstar on today’s Good Morning Britain after it was revealed more fans were suing Madonna after she was allegedly two hours late on a stop on her Celebration tour. He recalled an interview with the Hung Up hitmaker ‘years ago’ with his wife Judy Finnigan, 75, remarking while raising his eyebrows: ‘And she was six hours late for the interview.’

Fans’ Legal Action

On Monday, it was reported that three fans had launched legal action against Madonna for being two hours late to her concert in Washington DC. In the filing obtained by Rolling Stone, they said they felt ‘deceived’ and also claimed they ‘had to leave the concerts early prior to the concerts’ conclusion, therefore depriving each of them of the benefit of seeing the complete concert.’

Response to Legal Action

In response to the legal action, Madonna’s management team and Live Nation told People Magazine in a statement: ‘Madonna’s just completed, sold out 2023 Celebration Tour in Europe received rave reviews. We intend to defend this case vigorously.’
