During the Barcelona tournament, Nadal defeated Flavio Cobolli but suffered a loss to Alex De Minaur in the second round. Currently, he is gearing up to compete at the Madrid Open.
Nadal’s Press Conference Statement
Speaking at a press conference before the Madrid Open, Nadal shared a candid assessment of his physical condition. He mentioned moments of enjoyment on the court while playing against top players, but also acknowledged facing limitations that make it challenging.
“If I arrive in Paris feeling the way I do today, I may not participate. I will only play at Roland Garros if I believe I am competitive. I have other goals beyond the French Open, such as the Olympics,” Nadal stated.

Despite indicating that this season could be his last on the tour, Nadal’s performance has not met his expectations. He is scheduled to face 16-year-old American wildcard Darwin Blanch in the first round of the upcoming tournament in front of his home crowd.
