Palestinians in Gaza Allegedly Killed by IDF While Awaiting Aid, Israel Denies

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Aid Convoy Incident

Allegations of Attack by Israeli Defence Forces

At least 19 Palestinians were killed in an incident near Al-Kuwait roundabout, Gaza, as they awaited aid. The Gaza health authority claimed that Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) were responsible for the attack. However, the IDF denied these allegations, stating that no attack took place and that the aid convoy was looted by locals instead.

Details of the Incident

Gaza’s media office reported that civilians were killed and injured while waiting for aid near Al-Kuwait roundabout. The Israeli army allegedly opened fire on the crowd, leading to casualties. Al-Kuwait roundabout is a location where aid is often distributed, attracting desperate crowds in need of essentials.

Contradicting Statements

CNN quoted a local journalist confirming the casualties and injuries from the attack. However, the IDF’s statement refuted these claims, asserting that no aerial strike or intentional attack occurred. The IDF explained that the convoy was on a humanitarian mission to deliver food to Northern Gaza when it was looted by Gazans.

Denial of Aerial Strike

The IDF emphasized that there was no evidence of an aerial strike against the convoy or IDF forces firing at the people present. Despite conflicting reports, the IDF maintained that no deliberate attack took place during the aid distribution.

Recent Incidents and Prohibitions

Recent weeks have seen multiple reports of deadly assaults on civilians waiting for aid in Gaza. The Palestinian authorities in Gaza City announced a prohibition on gatherings at the Kuwait roundabout to prevent further casualties. The distribution of aid near the roundabout on the day of the incident raised questions about the safety of such locations.
