Olympic Rings Displayed on Eiffel Tower for Paris Games
Organisers have announced that the Olympic rings will be displayed on the Eiffel Tower as part of the preparations for the Paris Games.
Iconic Display
A 29m-long and 15m-high structure of five Olympic rings, crafted from recycled French steel, will adorn the south side of the historic Eiffel Tower in central Paris. The installation will overlook the picturesque Seine River, adding to the charm of the 135-year-old landmark.
Grand Opening Ceremony
During the opening ceremony on July 26th, approximately 10,500 athletes will parade through the heart of Paris on boats along a 3.7-mile route on the Seine River at sunset. The Eiffel Tower will play a significant role in the festivities, setting the stage for the Paris Games from July 26th to August 11th, followed by the Paralympics.
Symbolic Medals
Notably, the Olympic and Paralympic medals for the Paris Games will contain elements from a hexagonal piece of iron sourced from the Eiffel Tower, adding a symbolic touch to the prestigious awards.
