Olly Murs Welcomes New Baby
Days after welcoming his new baby with wife Amelia, Olly Murs has already had to say a ‘horrible goodbye’ as work beckons. The delighted parents brought home daughter Madison and announced her birth to the world on April 17, calling her their ‘mini Murs’.
Work Calls for Olly Murs
Keeping their bundle of joy away from the cameras, Olly and Amelia — who wed last year — have given fans very few details so far. However, the doting dad took to Instagram to give a brief update and revealed he has had to rush off to continue his scheduled tour dates.
Continuing Tour Dates
The 39-year-old singer wasn’t going to let fans down as he confirmed that he was in Leeds and ready to join Take That on stage this evening, April 18. ‘It’s been an incredible few days, little Madison is here and we’re just very, very over the moon and just full of love,’ Olly began his video.
He had posted a joking emoji on his story beforehand saying the last 48 hours had been a dizzying blur. Olly continued: ‘I just wanted to jump on here and say that everyone who is coming to the Leeds show tonight for the Take That show, I am here, yes. I mean it was so horrible to say goodbye this morning to Madison and Amelia but the show must go on.’
Balancing Parenthood and Pop Stardom
This hectic juggling of fresh dad duties and being a pop sensation is not totally unmanageable as the former X Factor star revealed to Metro he had a ‘plan’ in place. Madison’s arrival means the star doesn’t need to be concerned about mad dashes back to the hospital — but he confessed another fear too.
He had added that his biggest fear was the possibility that ‘at some point’ your child is ‘going to hate you’. ‘That scares me a bit. But also, I understand that, because at some point there’s times when I hated my parents,’ Olly continued. ‘Not hate as in a real dark kinda hate.’
Back to the Stage
Now Madison is here, the Troublemaker singer is back to the stage and his busy pop star life alongside Take That on tour. He’s set to perform at a string of gigs over the next two months across the UK, including festivals and arena dates.
