Oasis Teases Fans with Possible Reunion
Since Oasis split in 2009, fans of the hit Britpop band have been eagerly anticipating a reunion. However, recent developments have left them hanging, with hopes dashed once again.
Recent Tease Raises Hopes
Despite occasional rumors of a comeback over the years, the estranged Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, have consistently dismissed them. Yet, just a few days ago, a cryptic video posted on the band’s official page hinted at a possible Oasis return after 15 years.
Speculations and Disappointments
The video featured a country house that resembled Sawmills Studios in Cornwall, where Oasis recorded their debut album, ‘Definitely Maybe.’ This led to widespread speculation and excitement among fans, hoping for a long-awaited reconciliation between the brothers.
However, the band’s announcement on May 23 revealed a different plan. Instead of reuniting, Oasis will be releasing a 30th-anniversary edition of ‘Definitely Maybe,’ titled ‘Definitely Maybe (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition),’ on August 30. This edition will include unheard demos and new artwork.
Fans Express Their Disappointment
Following the news, fans took to social media to express their disappointment. Comments like ‘@L3wis21A: “All that build-up for this,”‘ and ‘@maxtoto13: “Shouldn’t have got my hopes up… I’m actually gutted,”‘ flooded online platforms.
Noel Gallagher had previously hinted at releasing unheard Oasis music to commemorate the album’s anniversary. While fans long for a reunion, Noel has clarified that there are no plans for a tour or joint performances with Liam.
History of Discord
The band’s split in 2009 was a result of ongoing tensions between the brothers, with Noel eventually deciding to pursue a solo career. Reports of conflicts and incidents during their time together, including physical altercations, have highlighted the strained relationship between the siblings.
Fifteen years after their separation, the Gallagher brothers remain estranged, continuing to publicly criticize each other.
