Nottingham Forest’s Frustration with Referees
Nottingham Forest recently faced a bitter defeat in the Premier League against Everton, where they were denied three crucial penalties. The team has expressed their frustration towards the referees’ decisions during the match.
Controversial Penalty Decisions
- Forest believed that Anthony Taylor overlooked challenges on Giovanni Reyna and Callum Hudson-Odoi that should have resulted in penalties.
- Ashley Young, who was involved in the incidents, also escaped a potential handball decision, further adding to Forest’s grievances.
Despite the use of VAR, the on-field decisions stood, with VAR official Stuart Attwell supporting the referee’s calls.
Nottingham Forest’s Response
Shortly after the game, Nottingham Forest took to social media to express their disappointment:
“Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game, but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times. NFFC will now consider its options.” – Nottingham Forest
The club’s statement highlighted their dissatisfaction with the officiating and hinted at potential actions they might take in response.
The PA news agency has reached out to the PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) for their comments on the matter.
