Social Media Spat Between Luke Littler and Neal Maupay

Darts star Luke Littler and Brentford striker Neal Maupay recently engaged in a heated exchange on social media, following Maupay’s on-field altercation with Scott McTominay during Brentford’s match against Manchester United.

Maupay’s Instagram Post

After the match, Maupay posted a picture of the incident on Instagram, where McTominay was seen grabbing his shirt, with the caption: “This fan is desperate for my shirt.”

Littler’s Response

In response to Maupay’s post, Littler commented on an article by stating on Instagram: “Talks more than he scores.”

Maupay’s Retaliation

Not one to back down, Maupay retaliated by posting a clip of Littler celebrating, along with the caption “Talk about a big fish”, alluding to Littler’s renowned 170 checkouts in darts, also known as ‘the big fish’.

Previous Social Media Engagements

This is not the first time Maupay has been involved in social media banter, as he previously exchanged words with James Maddison over goal celebrations. Maddison had criticized Maupay for imitating his celebration, to which Maupay responded by highlighting his own career achievements compared to Maddison’s.
