TV Presenter Lorraine Kelly Reflects on Past Miscarriage
During an interview with Saga Magazine, Lorraine Kelly shared her thoughts on a miscarriage she experienced over 20 years ago. She expressed how she sometimes ponders about “what might have been” in relation to the pregnancy loss.
Embracing Open Conversations About Miscarriage
Kelly highlighted the importance of discussing the experience of losing a pregnancy more openly. She mentioned how she vividly remembers being told that miscarriages are common, which, instead of comforting her, made her feel worse.
“I think it’s good that we are talking about things like this a lot more. We are more open, and you should be. You should be allowed to grieve and go through that whole process the way it suits you,” Kelly shared.
Choosing Not to Pursue Further Children
Despite having a daughter named Rosie, Kelly revealed that she and her partner did not have any more children. She explained that they did not actively prevent it from happening but also did not pursue fertility treatments like IVF. Kelly mentioned that by the time they realized it wasn’t happening, she was in her early 40s and felt that their window for expanding their family had closed.
