Liam Neeson Stars in Riveting New Netflix Thriller

In the Land of Saints and Sinners: Liam Neeson’s New Thriller on Netflix

Netflix has just added a new thriller that has Liam Neeson fans soaking up the action as they compare it with Taken, one of his most popular films. Neeson leads an Irish cast so starry it’s been likened to the country’s equivalent of the Avengers movies.

About the Film

Directed by Robert Lorenz, “In the Land of Saints and Sinners” premiered at the Venice Film Festival last September and was added to Netflix on Friday. The movie is set in Ireland in 1974 and follows Finbar Murphy (Neeson), who leads a quiet life in the remote coastal town of Glencolmcille, far from the political violence that grips the rest of the country.

The Cast

  • Liam Neeson as Finbar Murphy
  • Kerry Condon as Doirean
  • Ciarán Hinds as [Character Name]
  • Colm Meaney as [Character Name]
  • Sarah Greene as [Character Name]
  • Jack Gleeson as [Character Name]

Fan Reactions

Fans have been raving about the movie, with one fan on X calling it “a brilliant movie on Netflix.” Another fan praised it as “one to watch again,” highlighting the performances of the cast.

As the film dropped on the streaming platform, fans also praised the “stacked cast,” with one viewer mentioning how Kerry Condon shines as a ferocious villain.

Critical Acclaim

“In the Land of Saints and Sinners” has received an impressive 82% critic rating on review site Rotten Tomatoes. Empire magazine praised it as “a solid, old-fashioned Irish Western about what it means to hang up your rifle.”

The Financial Times’ Danny Leigh compared Neeson’s performance to iconic Hollywood hardmen, stating that “Neeson is as sturdy as ever in a role Clint Eastwood might have played 20 years ago.”

Career Comeback

Jack Gleeson, who famously retired from acting a decade ago, made a major comeback with his role in the film. He has since appeared in other successful projects like Netflix’s “Sex Education” and the BBC’s adaptation of “The Famous Five.”
