Who is K. Surendran?

A Chemistry graduate from Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College in Kozhikode, Surendran has a political career that began through ABVP. Fluent in Tulu, Malayalam, and Kannada, he has held significant positions within the BJP over the years.

Hailing from Ulleyeri in Kozhikode district, Surendran became the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in 2009. He came close to winning an election in 2016 and has contested in Lok Sabha polls multiple times.

Surendran is a trusted confidant of Union Minister V Muraleedharan and is married with two children.

BJP’s Strategy in Kerala

The BJP aims to disrupt the traditional Congress-led UDF and CPI(M)-led LDF dominance in Kerala. The party has announced candidates for 12 seats, with its NDA partner BDJS contesting four seats.
