Jeremy Clarkson’s Heartbreak
Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear star, has been left devastated after revealing he had to send his beloved cow Pepper to an abattoir. Clarkson, 63, has transitioned from fast cars to farming in recent years, with cameras documenting his efforts on his Diddly Squat farm in the Cotswolds.
The Story of Pepper
On the second season of the series, Jeremy took a shine to Pepper after being asked to care for her by Rosie, the five-year-old daughter of her previous owner, a cattle breeder. Despite vowing to save Pepper and let her enjoy greener pastures, Jeremy had to make the tough decision to get rid of her in the upcoming third season.
Emotional Challenges
During a recent press event for the series, Jeremy shared his emotions about Pepper being killed, saying, ‘I’m finding today really quite sad. Pepper is going, obviously — what do you think will become of her?’ The decision to rear pigs on the farm meant that half of his cows, including Pepper, had to be taken away.
Jeremy faced more heartache when many of the pigs he purchased also started dying, leaving him and partner Lisa Hogan in tears. Despite the challenges, Jeremy expressed that they are now ‘a bit stronger at dealing with it now.’
Clarkson’s Farm Season 3
Clarkson’s Farm season 3 is set to launch on Friday on Amazon Prime Video. The series continues to showcase Jeremy’s journey in farming and the emotional challenges he faces along the way.
