I’m A Celebrity South Africa Spin-Off
Despite its success in ratings, I’m A Celebrity South Africa will not be returning for a second series. The special spin-off featured favorite celebrities from the main ITV show, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, heading to South Africa to compete in an all-stars version, with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly leading the show.
The Ultimate ‘Legend’
Myleene Klass emerged as the ultimate ‘legend’ after triumphing over campmates like Helen Flanagan, Joe Swash, and Jordan Banjo in a final face-off that involved a challenging eating trial. The trial included consuming items like fermented eggs, pig snouts, chicken intestines, mice tails, and stinky tofu.
Format and Success
Unlike the live episodes of the traditional show filmed in Australia, the South Africa spin-off was pre-recorded. This format meant that the outcome was determined by trials rather than public voting, making it a unique viewing experience for fans.
Last year, fans enjoyed two series of I’m A Celebrity, which began in 2002. However, the South Africa spin-off was a one-time event to commemorate a special anniversary, as confirmed by ITV.
The show garnered significant success, with an average of 5.2 million viewers across its weeknight run and a strong viewership in the 16-34 age group for the launch episode.
Future Possibilities
While the South Africa spin-off will not return this year, fans can look forward to the 24th series in November. Speculation about the show’s potential return was fueled by hints from hosts Ant and Dec during an Instagram live session.
After her victory in the Kruger National Park edition, Myleene donated the £100,000 prize money to Save The Children UK, emphasizing the impact the contribution will have.
