Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen’s Relationship
Isla Fisher was quizzed about her Valentine’s Day plans with Sacha Baron Cohen before it was revealed they had secretly split after 20 years together. The Borat actor, 52, and fellow actor Isla, 48, shocked the showbiz world this week when they announced they had secretly filed for divorce last year.
Their Marriage and Family
They married in 2010 and had been together for six years before tying the knot; they also share children Olive, 16, Elula, 13, and Montgomery, nine.
Valentine’s Day Tradition
While on the outside their marriage appeared as strong as ever, with romantic holidays away and PDAs on social media, they revealed in a statement on Friday that had secretly ‘jointly filed to end our marriage’ in 2023. Isla shared that Sacha always gave her a card with a giant question mark every Valentine’s Day.
The Split
This week, a source claimed that the pair had explosive arguments in the lead-up to their split, as they butted heads over their careers and parenting duties. Another source claimed Isla and Sacha had been ‘living separate lives’ since last year, but wanted to wait and let their children deal with the news before making their separation public.
Announcement of Split
Isla and Sacha announced their split with an Instagram post on Friday with a photograph of them both in tennis outfits, alongside a caption which read: ‘After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down.’
Early Years and Relationship Milestones
Ali G star Sacha first met Isla at a party in 2001 – which was a few years before they both gained international fame as Hollywood stars. They then got engaged in 2004 and welcomed their first child three years later.
Recent Events
In August last year, the pair shared photographs from a romantic holiday abroad, where they kissed on the beach and took in sunsets together. On her birthday the previous year, Sacha showered Isla with love calling her a ‘brilliant woman’ as he shared multiple photos of her from over the years.
