The chicken fillet roll has been crowned as Ireland’s official favorite lunch option, with a whopping 41% of respondents in a recent survey casting their votes in its favor.

According to research conducted by Circle K, the chicken fillet roll outshines other sandwich choices in popularity, showcasing a significant lead in the preferences of the Irish public.

Consumer Habits

The survey, which involved 1,000 participants and was carried out by 3Gem, also unveiled that a staggering 92% of individuals purchase food on the go at least once a month. Furthermore, 28% indulge in “food to go” options multiple times a week, highlighting the prevalence of this trend.

Key Considerations

When selecting food to go, consumers prioritize convenience (39%), value (33%), and quality (24%). Nearly half of the respondents (44%) are willing to spend between €5-€9 on their on-the-go meals, emphasizing the importance of affordability and taste.

Rising Popularity

Notably, the chicken fillet roll has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years. In a previous study conducted in 2020, only 22% of participants ranked the chicken fillet roll as their preferred deli food, indicating a significant increase in its appeal and consumption.
