Iranian state media has revealed details about the recent unprecedented attack on Israel, named “Operation Truthful Promise.” Tehran deployed long-range missiles capable of covering close to 2,000 km, nearly double the distance needed to reach Israel.
Weapons Used in the Attack
- Medium-range Emad and Kheibarshekan ballistic missiles were used in the operation.
- The Kheibarshekan missile boasts a range of up to 1,800 km, while Emad missiles can carry a warhead of about 750 kg and fly at least 1,700 km.
- Paveh cruise missiles, known for their high speeds of up to 900 km/h, were also utilized.
- Shahed 136 drones, similar to the kamikaze drones used by Russia, were deployed in the attack.
Iran and Israel: Historical Conflict
Iran and Israel have a long history of enmity, with Israel declared as Iran’s arch-enemy after the Islamic Revolution of 1979. The recent attack marked Iran’s first direct assault on Israel, involving around 300 missiles and drones.
