Key Diplomatic Visit: Ukraine’s Foreign Minister to Visit India

In a significant development, Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba is scheduled to undertake a visit to India next week, marking the first such visit since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022.

Invitations Extended by Leaders

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been extended invitations by both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit their respective countries post-elections. The invitations were extended during telephonic conversations earlier in the day, showing optimism for Modi’s third term and India’s peacemaker role amid the conflict.

India’s Stance on Conflict and Diplomacy

During the conversations, PM Modi congratulated Putin on his re-election as the President of the Russian Federation and conveyed his best wishes for peace, progress, and prosperity of the friendly people of Russia. Modi also reaffirmed India’s steadfast stance in favor of dialogue and diplomacy as the pivotal means to resolve disputes.

Emphasizing a people-centric approach, PM Modi highlighted India’s unwavering support for dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred avenues for conflict resolution. He underscored India’s backing for all endeavors towards an early and peaceful resolution of issues between the concerned parties, affirming India’s commitment to contribute meaningfully to the pursuit of global peace.

Strengthening India-Ukraine Partnership

Talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Zelenskyy underscored the commitment to strengthen the partnership between India and Ukraine across various domains. Both leaders reiterated the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

India’s support for all efforts towards an early and peaceful resolution of issues between the parties was highlighted, with a commitment to continue contributing to a peaceful solution.
