Celebrities Running in the 2024 London Marathon

The 2024 London Marathon is set to be a star-studded affair as a whole host of celebrities don their running gear for the second-largest annual road race in the UK. This year, the likes of Harry Judd, Romesh Ranganathan, Christopher Eccleston, and Ruth Wilson will run in aid of charity, setting off on Sunday (April 21) along with 50,000 other runners fundraising and chasing personal goals. The London Marathon is no small feat, of course, as participants run a 26.2-mile (42.2km) footrace through the capital. So, training has been intense, with plenty of celebrities spotted across recent months getting the miles in.

Harry Judd

Harry Judd, known for his drum-playing skills in the band McFly, is also a talented athlete. He has participated in various competitions and shows his dedication to the London Marathon by running for the Children’s Trust.

Romesh Ranganathan

Romesh Ranganathan, a well-known comedian, is taking on the challenge of the London Marathon for a good cause, raising funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). Despite finding the training difficult, he is determined to complete the marathon.

Rosie Jones

Comedy star Rosie Jones, who has ataxic cerebral palsy, is participating in the marathon with a buggy, breaking barriers and raising funds for Up – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement.

Christopher Eccleston

Christopher Eccleston, famous for his role in Doctor Who, is running for The Big Issue and aims to complete the marathon at various milestones in his life. He brings his enthusiasm and dedication to the race.

Ruth Wilson

Actress Ruth Wilson is running in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK, inspired by her father’s diagnosis. Along with her family, she aims to raise awareness and funds for the cause.

Tom Grennan

Singer Tom Grennan, fundraising for Shelter, is taking on the challenge of the London Marathon with determination and commitment, despite his relatively short training period.

Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick

Actors Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick from EastEnders are running the marathon in character, honoring a storyline from the show. They are running in memory of a character’s late wife, raising awareness for a cause.

Phil Dunster

Actor Phil Dunster, known for his role in Ted Lasso, is fundraising for Young Lives Versus Cancer and running proudly in support of the charity. His personal connection to the cause drives his commitment to the marathon.
