More than 2,000 people have been arrested from dozens of US college campuses in recent weeks amid the ongoing pro-Palestinian protests.
The police arrested more than 300 protesters on college campuses on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with UCLA and Dartmouth College seeing significant arrests.
The arrests also came as the police cracked down on defiant pro-Palestinian protesters at several colleges.
France
Police in Paris entered France’s prestigious Sciences Po university to remove pro-Palestinian protesters who had occupied the college’s buildings.
Unlike the US, protests on the French campus have been peaceful, with Sciences Po being the epicenter due to the university’s ties with Israel.
Australia
Hundreds of people protesting the ongoing war in Gaza rallied at one of Australia’s top universities and demanded divestment from companies with ties to Israel.
Similar protests have sprung up at universities in Melbourne, Canberra, and other Australian cities.
Canada
Top Canadian universities have witnessed similar pro-Palestinian protests and set up encampments, calling for divestment from any investments supporting Israel.
Mexico
Dozens of students at Mexico’s largest university set up an encampment, chanting “Long live free Palestine,” and called on the Mexican government to break ties with Israel.
United Kingdom
Prominent universities in the UK have joined protests against the war in Gaza, with students setting up camp outside university buildings in cities like Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, and Bristol.
Ireland
Trinity College Dublin fined its students’ union over holding protests against the war in Gaza and other university-related issues.
Houthis Offer Education to US Students
Yemen-based Iranian-backed militant group Houthi announced offering education to students suspended from US universities for anti-Israel protests, as part of their support for Palestine.
