In a statement released through his club Saracens, Vunipola revealed that he was charged with resisting the law and fined 240 euros following a swift legal process. He described the event as an “unfortunate misunderstanding” that escalated.
Vunipola’s Explanation
Vunipola explained, “I can confirm I was involved in an unfortunate misunderstanding when I was leaving a club in Majorca on Sunday, which got out of hand. Contrary to media reports, there was no violence, no fight, and I did not threaten anybody with bottles or chairs.”
Resolution and Apology
He continued, “I was charged with resisting the law and have paid the fine. The Spanish police investigation is closed, and I am returning to the UK today. I will cooperate with Saracens’ internal process and offer my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
