Arvind Kejriwal’s Life in Tihar Jail
Upon his arrival at Tihar jail, Arvind Kejriwal was provided with essential items and accommodations as per the jail manual.
Identity and Accommodations
Known as Under Trial prisoner (UT) number 670, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is currently housed in a cell measuring 14 feet x 8 feet in Tihar’s jail number 2. He will be staying in ward number 3 of jail number 2.
Visitors and Books
Kejriwal has been allowed five regular visitors, including his wife, daughter, son, private secretary Bibhav Kumar, and Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak. He can also have three books of his choice, including the holy books Ramayana and Gita.
Personal Belongings and Special Precautions
Despite the usual confiscation of belongings, Kejriwal was permitted to keep a locket he had requested from the court. The jail authorities are ensuring his health by providing round-the-clock medical staff. Kejriwal’s cell is equipped with a television set.
Additional Facilities
Kejriwal was given a kit containing essential items and was also provided with a bank account for his family to deposit money. This money can be used to purchase items from the jail canteen, such as biscuits, salad, toothbrush, toothpaste, and fruits.
