The US, on Wednesday (Mar 20), officially declared its recognition of Arunachal Pradesh as Indian territory. The US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson, Vedant Patel, emphasized that any unilateral attempts to advance territorial claims across the Line of Actual Control are strongly opposed by the United States.
China’s Claims and Reactions
China has persistently claimed Arunachal Pradesh as part of South Tibet, citing historical connections such as the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama in the 17th century. Despite Beijing’s assertions, New Delhi has firmly rejected these claims, asserting that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.
