Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico’s Health Update
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico underwent another surgery following the shooting on Wednesday, May 15. His deputy and close ally, Robert Kalinak, provided an update on Fico’s condition.
Current Condition
As of Friday, May 17, Robert Fico remains in a “very serious” condition, two days after the shooting. Kalinak mentioned that Fico’s state is still critical and that it will take some time to assess the development of his condition.
Surgery Update
Following the initial surgery, Fico underwent a second surgical procedure to address his injuries.

“His state is still very serious. I think it would take a couple of days to see the course of the development of his state,” Kalinak told reporters outside the hospital.
