Arsenal Midfielder Frida Maanum Absent from Norway’s Euro 2025 Qualifiers
Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum will not be participating in Norway’s upcoming Euro 2025 qualifiers following an incident during Sunday’s League Cup final victory over Chelsea. The 24-year-old collapsed off the ball in stoppage time and was stretchered off the field before Arsenal secured a 1-0 win in extra time.
Current Status and Team Update
The Gunners provided an update on Tuesday stating that Maanum is “doing well” and is under assessment by the medical team. It was further announced on Wednesday that she will not be joining the Norwegian squad for the qualifiers.
The club’s official statement mentioned, “Frida Maanum will continue to be closely monitored by our medical team at Arsenal this week and will therefore not meet up with the Norwegian national team before their game on Friday.”
Regarding her condition, the statement added, “We are liaising closely with the Norwegian medical team. Frida is stable and doing well and we’ll share further updates as and when we receive them.”
Upcoming Matches
Norway is set to kick off their Euro qualifying campaign with a match against Group A opponents Finland on Friday, followed by a game against the Netherlands in Breda next Tuesday.

The final on Sunday at Molineux was paused for seven minutes as Maanum received treatment from the medical team. Arsenal later confirmed that she did not lose consciousness and, after returning with the team from Wolverhampton, did not require hospital treatment.
Maanum was substituted before Stina Blackstenius’ 116th-minute goal secured a second consecutive trophy win for Jonas Eidevall’s side.
