Farewell to Fu Bao
Dozens of South Koreans bid farewell to Fu Bao, the first giant panda born in South Korea, as she left for China. Fans stood in the rain, shouting parting messages and taking photos and videos as the truck carrying Fu Bao slowly moved to a plaza.
The vehicle was decorated with a picture of the panda and a message expressing gratitude for the meeting with Fu Bao.
Emotional Departure
Before her departure, Fu Bao made her last public appearance a month ago at Everland theme park. Thousands of fans gathered to see her off, with a zookeeper expressing heartfelt sentiments during the ceremony.
Return to China
Fu Bao, the daughter of pandas Ai Bao and Le Bao, returned to China from South Korea. Her parents came to South Korea as part of Beijing’s “panda diplomacy”. Fu Bao landed in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and will undergo quarantine at the Shenshuping giant panda base in Wolong National Nature Reserve.
