Roy Keane left stunned after alleged headbutt incident, court hears

Roy Keane Testifies in Court About Alleged Assault

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane testified in court about an incident where he was allegedly assaulted during a Premier League football match at Emirates Stadium. The accused, Scott Law, has pleaded not guilty to the charge of common assault.

Details of the Incident

The assault took place on September 3rd last year after Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United. Keane, who was working as a pundit, described being “in shock” after being headbutted through doors while walking with fellow pundit Micah Richards for the final match analysis.

Roy Keane’s Account

Keane mentioned that the incident occurred amidst the noise and shouting typical of a football match. He expressed his surprise at the sudden attack and emphasized that he was caught off guard in his workplace.

Response and Aftermath

Footage showed Richards intervening to prevent further confrontation, with Keane urging to call the police. Despite the incident, they proceeded with their post-match analysis, with Keane revealing bruises on his chest and arms as a result of the assault.

Court Proceedings

The trial revealed Law’s actions, where he allegedly delivered a forceful headbutt to Keane’s chest before fleeing the scene. The prosecution argued against Law’s claim of self-defence, stating that his actions were unjustified and aggressive.

The trial is ongoing and is expected to conclude soon.
