Israeli Airstrikes in Rafah Camp Kill 35 Palestinians

Israeli Airstrikes in Rafah Camp for Displaced People

Israeli airstrikes in Rafah camp for displaced people resulted in at least 35 Palestinians killed and dozens wounded. The IDF confirmed the airstrikes, targeting an area designated for displaced individuals in Gaza’s Rafah.

Targeting of Tent Camps

This latest attack on tent camps follows the launching of dozens of rockets from Rafah towards central Israel, a first in four months.

Details of the Airstrikes

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that an IDF aircraft struck a Hamas compound in Rafah where significant Hamas terrorists were operating. The strike was carried out against legitimate targets under international law, based on precise intelligence indicating Hamas’ use of the area.

Targeted Hamas Officials

Among those targeted in the airstrike were two senior Hamas officials – Yassin Rabia and Khaled Nagar. Rabia was described as managing Hamas’ terrorist activities in Judea and Samaria, while Nagar was a senior official in Hamas’ Judea and Samaria Headquarters.

Hamas Condemnation

Hamas condemned the airstrikes, calling on the masses to rise up against the ongoing Zionist massacre against the people in the sector.

International Concern

This escalation comes amid ongoing international concern, with the International Court of Justice recently ordering Israel to cease its attacks on Rafah. The conflict continues to impact civilians and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
