Technical University of Moldova Seeks Indian Students and Collaborations with Indian Tech Universities

Technical University of Moldova: Attracting Indian Students

The Technical University of Moldova (UTM), known for its high academic standards and globally recognized degrees, is actively seeking collaboration with prestigious Indian technology universities. The university’s rector, Viorel Bostan, emphasizes the institution’s commitment to attracting Indian students and fostering stronger academic and research partnerships with Indian counterparts.

Commitment to Indian Students

“We know that Indian students are very responsible and motivated. We are looking for bright students who will join our academic community,” said Bostan. He highlighted the high level of education at UTM, with degrees and diplomas that are recognized worldwide.

Diverse Student Body

Currently, UTM hosts around 400 international students among its diverse student body. Bostan aims to increase this number, reflecting the university’s dedication to global education.

Practical Learning Approach

UTM’s focus on practical, hands-on learning, especially in engineering, ensures that graduates are not only theoretically proficient but also capable of applying their knowledge in real-world projects. This approach is highly valued by industries, particularly the fast-growing IT sector in Moldova.

History and Academic Offerings

Established in 1964 as a polytechnic institute during the Soviet era, UTM transformed into a university after Moldova’s independence in 1991. Today, the university has 11 faculties covering engineering sciences, architecture, industrial design, and fashion design programs. Recent mergers have expanded its academic offerings to include faculties of Agricultural, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine.

Future Collaborations with Indian Universities

Bostan envisions closer ties with Indian universities to foster joint academic cooperation and research. He sees great potential for collaboration given the excellent reputation of Indian universities.

Research and Partnerships

In addition to academic programs, UTM boasts three research institutes and partnership agreements with Romanian universities, enriching its academic and research environment. The university has a rich history of training specialists and continues to offer postgraduate education and professional development courses.
