Iconic 90s Pop Star Joins Celebrity Gogglebox
A pop icon who rose to fame in the 1990s is set to join Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox with her grown-up daughter, it’s been reported.
Celebrity Lineup
Stars including Roman Kemp, Davina McCall, Bobby Brazier, and Tom Daley have appeared on the celebrity version of the series in the past, entertaining the nation as they react to the latest goings-on of the TV world.
In 2022, Spice Girls star Mel B appeared on the programme with comedian Ruby Wax, with whom she starred opposite in Trailblazers: A Rocky Mountain Road Trip with Emily Atack.
Now, it’s been reported that the 48-year-old singer is set to return with her 25-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi.
‘It’s so exciting to have Scary Spice and Phoenix on the sofa together, they’re going to be fantastic,’ an insider said, according to The Mirror.
Mel B and Phoenix – whose father is dancer Jimmy Gulzar – aren’t the only celebrities to be tipped for Celebrity Gogglebox as of late.
Last month, it emerged that former Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier was also joining the ranks of the programme once again with his dad Jeff Brazier, as well as his younger brother Freddie Brazier.
‘Producers are delighted that Freddie wants to join them,’ a source previously told The Sun.
‘The trio have great banter and it will be great to treat Bobby’s huge fanbase to his rapport with Freddie.
‘He has really propelled his family to stardom since coming runner-up on Strictly.
‘Jeff adores working with his sons and the brothers are really close, so it could lead to more projects together.’
Family Resemblance
Over the years, Phoenix has astounded Spice Girls fans by just how much she looks like her mum, especially when wearing her iconic Scary Spice looks from the 90s.
Earlier this year, Mel B explained on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon how annoyed she was when she realized that her daughter had been ransacking her wardrobe.
‘I was so annoyed,’ she remarked, adding that she told Phoenix: ‘You’d better bring all that stuff back right now, ’cause they’re my clothes’.
