Lee Riley Shares Throwback Photo of Jenny Newby
Gogglebox star Lee Riley risked the wrath of his friend and co-star Jenny Newby after sharing an old photo of her. The pair, who have known each other for 30 years now, first met when he became a customer at her pub and have been ‘best friends ever since’.
The Friendship and On-Screen Chemistry
In 2014, Lee and Jenny joined the Channel 4 series Gogglebox, where they have left viewers in stitches countless times since then. Although they are usually happy to poke fun at each other in front of the cameras, Lee, 55, might be in trouble after sharing a potentially embarrassing photo of his old friend on their joint Instagram page which has nearly 870,000 followers.
Fans’ Reactions and Support for Jenny
Posting a photo of Jenny, 67, rocking a perm, he wrote: ‘She’s going to go mad at me. Jenny with the 80’S perm.’ While Lee might have been expecting some cheeky comments from their fans about the once-stylish haircut, many people rushed to defend Jenny.

The Gogglebox Duo and Their Filming Setup
The pair film their Gogglebox segments from Lee’s caravan in Hull, with Jenny also moving in during the pandemic to continue filming for the show. She eventually moved back in with her husband Ray, while Lee lives with Steve, his partner of nearly three decades.
About Gogglebox and How Lee Joined the Show
Although Jenny once said she was a ‘big fan’ of Gogglebox ‘right from the beginning’, Lee said he initially turned down the offer to appear but was eventually convinced by his friend. Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
