Cancellation and Controversy
The organisers made a final attempt to host the event in secret at a bar in the Gangnam neighbourhood in Seoul.
Gangnam council took extreme measures to prevent the festival from taking place, warning local restaurants of closure if they participated.
The event faced further setbacks when Japanese performers withdrew, citing fears of violence and stabbing.
Organizer’s Response
Lee Hee Tae, head of Play Joker, expressed disbelief at the turn of events and received death threats.
He defended the event, stating it did not involve illegal activities like sexual acts or nudity.
