Kate Middleton Honored with New Title
Amid her battle with cancer, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, has been bestowed with a new title alongside her husband William.
Kate Middleton’s New Title
Kate Middleton has made history by becoming the first member of the British royalty to be recognized as a companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, the Order of the Companions of Honour. This prestigious award is one of the highest royal honors in the United Kingdom.
Joining the ranks of distinguished individuals like Sir David Attenborough, David Hockney, Dame Maggie Smith, Sir Paul McCartney, and Sir Elton John, Kate Middleton’s outstanding public service has been acknowledged by King Charles III.
Order of the Companions of Honour
The Order of the Companions of Honour, established in 1917 by King George V, celebrates the contributions of individuals in the arts, sciences, medicine, and public service. Only 60 members can be part of this exclusive Order at any given time, distinguished by the initials CH after their name.
The motto of the Order, “In action faithful and in honor clear,” reflects the commitment of its members to excellence.
Other Royal Titles
- Prince William has been named the Great Master of the Order of the Bath for his exceptional service in military and civilian roles.
- Queen Camilla has assumed the role of Grand Master of the Order of the British Empire.
- The Duchess of Gloucester, Birgitte, has been honored as the Royal Lady Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.
