Viewers’ Reaction to RTÉ’s Programming Decision

Some viewers expressed discontent over RTÉ’s choice to broadcast the Republic of Ireland women’s Euro 2025 qualifier against England on RTÉ 2 instead of a Champions League game.

Game Schedule Clash

On Tuesday evening, Ireland is set to face England at the Aviva Stadium at 7:30pm, while the Champions League match between Manchester City and Real Madrid kicks off at 8pm with coverage starting at 7:45pm.

RTÉ’s Programming Decision

Due to the scheduling conflict, RTÉ opted to show the Ireland game on RTÉ Two, shifting the Man City game to RTÉ Player and the News Now channel from 7:55pm.
