Scary Spice Mel B’s Fiery Exchange on This Morning
Living up to her nickname, Scary Spice rounded on This Morning host Dermot O’Leary during her recent appearance on the show. Mel B has been spilling lots of juicy gossip recently, from Geri Halliwell’s supposed lies to her to being dropped from the Spice Girls Whatsapp chat. However, she was less than impressed when the 50-year-old host tried to interrupt her sharing even more secrets in their game of ‘Scary or Spicy’.
Embracing the Nickname
‘How do you feel about your nickname Scary Spice?’ asked Alison Hammond, 49, prompting Mel to declare: ‘I like it!’ She continued: ‘I have been asked this question where they go “Is it because you were the only lady of colour in the group?” I’m like no need to take it there.’ ‘I like leopard print and I am scary,’ the Two Become One hitmaker added to Alison, with both women agreeing it wasn’t a bad thing to be intimidating.
Clash with Dermot
Trying to take advantage of a break in the conversation, Dermot said: ‘uhhhh’ as he prepared for a new question. Clashing with him, Mel replied: ‘I think there’s a bit of Scary in everyone… I haven’t finished talking Dermot!’ He apologised and pulled a face, clearly embarrassed by being called out by the icon while Alison chuckled at her friend’s expense.
Teasing and Laughter
Not done teasing the former X Factor presenter, Alison joked he was the ‘biggest showbiz diva’ they’d met which Mel agreed with before doing a vaguely Italian impression of him. In some of the other wild questions, the Big Brother alum asked if she was ever with The Gentleman star Max Beesley as the Wannabe singer quipped: ‘I’m not telling you!’
Fun Moments and Revelations
As the behind-the-scenes segment devolved into chaos, Alison shocked everyone as she asked which of the Spice Girls Mel would marry. Dermot couldn’t believe his ears as his co-host defended: ‘What that’s what he said in my ear!’ ‘We’re not lesbians, Alison,’ replied Mel before giving a nod to persistent rumours and adding: ‘I was a lesbian but not now, clearly.’ The trio laughed as Dermot called it his ‘favourite question’ she’d ever said as the Bake Off presenter begged for the clip to be cut.
Previous Shade and Rumors
Prior to her This Morning stint, Mel had shaded her former bandmate Geri, 51, by saying nobody knows her real age while on Olivia Atwood’s podcast. ‘No one knows how old Geri is. No one’s seen her passport,’ she shared. ‘I mean, I know we’ve travelled the world, but I still don’t know how old she is.’
