Lily Allen’s Awkward Virginity Stories
Never afraid to talk about sex, Lily Allen has revealed she has no clue when she lost her virginity with two possible first times — both of which were ‘awful’.
Lost in Brazil
One of which was the time on holiday where her famous father infamously ended up calling the police, having found her bed empty in the morning. The 38-year-old pop icon shared last year that she had lost her virginity to a guy named Fernando in Brazil, when she was around 12 years old. However, this wasn’t strictly true as there was another guy from her school around the same time who caught her attention.
Embarrassing Escapades
‘It’s actually pretty traumatising, as are most of my childhood stories and escapades,’ Lily confessed on her Miss Me? podcast with Miquita Oliver, 39. ‘I actually don’t know when I lost my virginity, is that bad? It was between one of two people.’
Close Calls
Recounting the tale of Fernando, who she estimated was around 21, Lily said: ‘Anyway I met this guy called Fernando in the bar and we went back to his room and I stayed over. Me and Alfie [her brother] were sharing a bedroom and I fell asleep in his room and I didn’t go back to my room. So my dad woke up the next day, went to go and check on me and I wasn’t in the room and there was a full on panic.’
Lessons Learned
The entire escapade put her off sex for a while, which is understandable if your dad thinks you’ve drowned and calls the emergency services. Lily would much rather put the onus on a first orgasm or first time with someone you love, instead of the action itself.
Parenting and Career
The mum-of-two previously warned that ‘you can’t have it all’ as she claimed that having her daughters ‘totally ruined’ her pop career. Discussing how having children affected her career choices, Allen revealed: ‘I never really had a strategy when it comes to career, but yes, my children ruined my career.’
Acting Endeavors
She has since found a new creative outlet in acting and made her West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story, for which she received a prestigious Olivier Award nomination. Lily has also starred in a stage production of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh and appeared on television in Dreamland.
