Earthquake Strikes off East Coast of Honshu, Japan
An earthquake of magnitude 6 struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan on Thursday (April 4), as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

- The quake occurred at a depth of 32 km (19.88 miles), according to EMSC.
- No immediate reports of damage or injuries were received after the earthquake.
- The epicenter had a depth of 40 kilometers (25 miles) and the tremors were felt in Tokyo as well.
Just a day prior to this event, Taiwan experienced a powerful earthquake that resulted in at least nine casualties and over 1,000 injuries. This earthquake, the most significant to hit Taiwan in 25 years, occurred on Wednesday (April 3).
Various Indian media outlets reported that two Indian nationals were missing following the earthquake in Taiwan. A search operation is currently in progress to locate the missing individuals. Taiwan is home to several thousand Indians, including around 3,000 students.
